When Plan B Becomes Plan A: On Caregiving, Midlife, and Facing What's Next

I read this Substack by Caren McCaleb (@sidewalkface) and felt it expressed so honestly what many people in their 50s and 60s are going through right now. Becoming caregivers. Facing midlife. Wondering what's next. I don't want to say too much because I want you to simply read it. Except to say, if you are caring for aging parents and coming to the realization that you are looking into your own future and it terrifies you, or that Plan B is looming as the logical Plan A because, dammit, you thought you still had time to figure it all out, then I urge you to read this. And lastly, as a couples counselor, I was moved by her recognition that having her longtime partner with her will make it all bearable.
